POSITION SUMMARY 

Radiology Partners is seeking a Lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist to be responsible for overseeing the specific modality and modality personnel during the physical absence of the Modality Manager.  They support their Modality Manager by taking on Administrative duties as requested and by being a resource to their co-workersThis position has high patient and company visibility and is accountable for representing the company in a pleasant, professional manner at all times.   

 
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Reports to their specific Modality Manager overseeing the modality as concerns and issues arise. Attends meeting when requested to discuss and evaluate best practices and keep management apprised of significant personnel and operational issues.   

  • Oversees modality and personnel operations, evaluating work flow needs and patient scheduling concernsEvaluates workflow and performance to maximize productivity. Acts as positive role model. Establishes and maintains positive relationships with all Clinical Managers, staff, physicians, patients, and referring offices. Acts as point person for radiologist needs.  

  • Assists with interviewing new staff for the modality. Makes personnel and staffing recommendations to management. Counsels current staff on quality standards and meeting company objectives and goals. Trains and orients new hires and keeps existing staff current on policies, procedures and changes. Makes recommendations to the Modality Manager for disciplinary measures and performance management of staff. 

  • Evaluates customer complaints, follows up to resolve the issue and responds to them as necessary.   

  • Ensures that equipment is in working order. Places and tracks service calls. Maintains the physical space of the office and request maintenance services when needed.  

  • Responsible for the non-technical component of the protocol process, including: ensuring that the patient is properly prepped for exams, including blood work, allergies, contraindications, etc., monitoring missing requisitions, faxing transmissions to referring MD offices to obtain missing requisitions, ensuring that the requisition is completely filled out i.e. exam, clinical and signature authorization numbers match the exam ordered and codes are correctly entered, evaluating requisitions to ensure exam requested matches the exam ordered, verify that exams have been scheduled at the proper site, time slot and day and contacting the Customer Care Center for assistance with scheduling changes as needed. 

  • Performs all duties and works as an active technologist in their specific modality, maintaining requisite certification.  

 

  • Performs other related duties as assigned such as ACR Accreditation, Yearly Physics Testing, and protocol management.  

  • Participates as a member of the Jefferson Radiology Team. Consistently demonstrates and promotes Jefferson Radiology Values. 

  • Ensures a professional attitude and appearance at all times. Consistently demonstrates flexibility and good judgment. Consults with co-workers and supervisor as necessary. 

  • Adheres to all Jefferson Radiology policies and procedures, including Compliance, HIPAA, OSHA, licensing and accreditation guidelines. Reviews policy and procedure manuals on an annual basis.   

 

 

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE  

  • Bachelor’s degree in science-related field with 5+ years of previous experience in a lead role, required. 

  • Nuclear Medicine and CPR (BLS) certification, required 

  • Connecticut State Radiological License, preferred.   

  • Basic knowledge of all radiology modalities. 

  • Experience with Radiology Information Systems (RIS), required 

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication and patient care skills, as well as the ability to motivate others.  

  • Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
