Position Summary
Radiology Affiliates Imaging, a Radiology Partner’s affiliate is seeking a Technologist Aide who will be accountable for assisting the MRI and CT Technologists to ensure a productive work environment. Provide excellent service to patients and referring physicians. Assist technologists with all non-technical functions and assist front desk staff and other departments as needed
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Technologist Assistance – CT
Prepare bloodwork and patient scheudles for the following day
Submit paperwork for NRDR for lung cancer screenings
Obtain prior films from outside facilities
Contact Radiologists with certain reads (ie. CTA’s for MBC/neuro Radiologists)
Technologist Assistance – MRI
Prepare patients for MRI exam (get them changed, lock up belongings, use the restroom, etc)
Sign contrast consent forms when needed
Call for prior reports and CD’s and coordinate with Medical Records via proper releases
Request bloodwork/pathology reports for prostate patients from referring physician offices
Guide patients to waiting room or Medical Records after completion of exam, using wheelchair when needed
Restock linens when delivered
Restock water cups, shorts, footies, and gowns when needed
Other responsibilities
Maintain good rapport with referring physician offices
Assist technologist with all non-technical functions
Assist Technical Supervisor as needed
Maintain room supplies and cleanliness of exam rooms during patient hours
Answer phones, take messages, send/distribute faxes
Other duties as assigned
DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required
1-2 years of previous medical office experience with knowledge of medical terminology
Basic computer and data entry experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Highly organized and detail-oriented
